SDGs 15 – Terrestrial Ecosystems
SDG Goal 15 aims to protect, restore, and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, halt desertification, reverse land degradation, and halt the loss of biodiversity. To achieve national goals regarding terrestrial ecosystems by 2030, 12 targets have been established, measured through 25 indicators. These targets encompass forestry governance, conservation and biodiversity, the preservation and utilization of biological economic value, environmental law enforcement, animal and plant quarantine, and animal and plant biosafety. The efforts undertaken to achieve these targets are outlined in policies, programs, and activities to be implemented by both government and non-government entities.
