SEMARANG – The Diponegoro University Library Technical Implementation Unit (UPT Perpustakaan Undip) continued its series of “Smart Campus Tour” activities, which include Socialization of AI Tools, Optimization of E-Resources, Research Data Processing Tools, and a Book Publishing Workshop, by visiting the Faculty of Law (FH) Undip on Friday, July 25, 2025. The activity aimed to introduce various library service innovations, optimize e-resources, and introduce research data processing tools, as well as conduct a book publishing workshop, all with the intention of equipping students with competent digital and research literacy skills in the era of AI.
The event, held at FH Undip, was opened with a warm welcome from Dr. Aditya Yulisulistyawan, S.H., M.H., Vice Dean I for Academic and Student Affairs at FH Undip. In his speech, Dr. Aditya highlighted the rapid progress of the Undip Library UPT, which has now become one of the most comfortable places for students to complete assignments and theses. He expressed hope that the participants would gain as much knowledge as possible from the activity.
This “Smart Campus Tour” activity featured three competent speakers from the Undip Library UPT and Undip Press:
- Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom., Head of Undip Library UPT and Undip Press
- Enny Anggraeny, S.S., Junior Expert Librarian at Undip Library UPT and Undip Press
- Fahimah, S.Sos., Junior Expert Librarian at FH Undip
Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom. opened the session by outlining the breadth of Undip’s library services, which not only focus on circulation but also support research methodologies. He introduced various online library services, including the Surat Bebas Pinjam (Loan Clearance Certificate), Thesis Clinic, Turnitin Check, Grammarly Check, and Tuesday English, all designed to support students’ academic needs.
The role of the Junior Expert Librarians was highly prominent in this session. Enny Anggraeny, S.S., shared interesting information about the book publishing program, including the “Nulis Buku Dibayar” (Get Paid to Write a Book) program, which offers financial incentives up to Rp 3.25 million. Enny also detailed the writing and publishing workflow through a special link, providing practical guidance for students interested in writing and publishing their works.
Equally important, Fahimah, S.Sos., also a Junior Expert Librarian from FH Undip, comprehensively explained the various e-resources and AI tools subscribed to by Undip. Fahimah introduced students to sophisticated platforms, including Jennie, Paperpal, Gamma, Karya Tulis AI (AI Academic Writing), DeepL, Julius.ai, ChatGPT, and Thesify.ai. The introduction of these tools is expected to help students in the research process, academic writing, and data processing more efficiently and adaptively to modern technology.
This “Smart Campus Tour” activity is a realization of the Undip Library UPT’s commitment to enhancing information and digital literacy among students, while also demonstrating the strategic role of Junior Expert Librarians in supporting an innovative academic ecosystem that is relevant to technological advancements.
