Semarang, March 31, 2026 — The Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University (FH Undip) held a Halal Bihalal gathering to commemorate Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. The event was held in the corridor of Building H, FH Undip. This event served as an important opportunity to strengthen ties among the academic community, from lecturers and administrative staff to students and retirees.
The solemn event was attended by the leadership, the Dean and Vice Deans of FH Undip. Also in attendance were professors, lecturers, retired lecturers, administrative staff, members of the Faculty of Law’s Executive Board (DWP), and student representatives.
The event began with opening remarks, followed by the recitation of verses from Surah Ali Imran, verses 133–136. The recitation of the divine words was delivered by Ananda Muhammad Zaidan Rizqon Adinata (a Quran memorizer), with Ananda Muhammad Fadlan Kholid reciting.
Next, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Undip, Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum., delivered remarks. In her remarks, she conveyed that the month of Shawwal is an important moment for strengthening ties of friendship. “The month of Shawwal is marked by a moment of spiritual victory and an increase in the quality of worship after a full month of fasting. This month is a prime opportunity to strengthen ties of friendship and mutual forgiveness,” she said.
The highlight of the event was a sermon by Drs. K.H. Eman Sulaeman, M.H., on the theme “Returning to the Pure Soul, We Strengthen Ties and Synergy to Achieve Achievement.” In her sermon, she emphasized the importance of controlling desires and avoiding overindulgence in worldly ones.
“There are two things to be wary of: indulging in lust and excessive desires—the more desires, the greater the potential for suffering. Imam Shafi’i said that fulfilling one’s needs is better than constantly feeling deprived,” he said.
He also emphasized that after Ramadan, a person has not fully returned to purity until they have forgiven one another. Furthermore, maintaining friendships offers many benefits, including greater prosperity and a longer life. He also encouraged all attendees to use this moment for self-evaluation so they could return to fitri (the state of fitri).
The warm atmosphere was palpable as all participants took part in the handshake and forgiveness session. This moment symbolized togetherness and a commitment to maintaining harmonious relationships within the Undip Faculty of Law.
The event concluded with a friendly gathering. Through this Halal Bihalal event, it is hoped that the entire Undip Faculty of Law academic community can continue to strengthen synergy and foster a spirit of togetherness in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in the future.
