Semarang, October 30, 2025 — The Faculty of Law at Diponegoro University (FH Undip) once again held a Visiting Lecturer event featuring a prestigious international speaker. This time, the activity hosted Prof. Dr. Paul Torremans, LL.B., LL.M., Professor of Private International Law and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) from the School of Law, University of Nottingham, England.
Carrying the theme “Trans-Border Infringement of Copyright,” the event was conducted online via the Zoom Meeting platform on Thursday, October 30, 2025, and was attended by the academic community of the Undip Faculty of Law, including lecturers and students.
In his presentation, Prof. Torremans highlighted the legal challenges arising from cross-border copyright infringement, especially in the digital age, which blurs jurisdictional boundaries. He emphasized the importance of international legal harmonization in handling copyright infringement cases that involve more than one national legal system.
This activity is part of the Undip Faculty of Law’s commitment to broadening students’ global perspectives and strengthening its international academic network. Through the Visiting Lecturer program, FH Undip consistently brings in world legal experts to provide comparative perspectives and enrich academic discourse within the campus environment. With the successful organization of this guest lecture, students are expected to better understand the dynamics of international law, particularly in the field of intellectual property rights, and be able to adapt to the rapidly evolving global legal landscape.
